Regan Beach is the City of South Lake Tahoe’s oldest beach facility. The beach faces north and offers great views, shallow water for swimming, and a playground. Fires and alcohol are prohibited. A little more secluded than nearby, El Dorado Beach, Regan offers spectacular views of the Lake. Regan is the in-town place to go to have a picnic, launch your kayak, or to take the kids to run around on the grass. Amenities include a large grass area, free parking, observation deck, playground, seasonal restaurant (Memorial Day thru Labor Day), restroom, and one sand volleyball court. The City’s only water dog park is located on the East end of Regan Beach. Dogs are permitted off leash ONLY in the dog water park section of the beach near the entrance to the park.
The City-owned beach is located at Lakeview Avenue at Sacramento. On the west side of Regan Beach, on the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Fresno Avenue, is a beautiful setting overlooking Lake Tahoe that is available for rent for private events. It may be rented from the City of South Lake Tahoe for a fee (call for current fee schedule) for two hour increments.
